Habe ich mich hier schon mal geoutet, dass ich die britische Band Transvision Vamp Ende der 80er so RICHTIG toll fand und ihr «Velveteen»-Album einige Monate meine absolute Lieblings-CD war? Die Mischung aus poppig-knackigen Gitarren und explosiver Sängerin, die ich heute auch noch an bspw. The Sounds schätze, hatte es mir damals besonders angetan. Sängerin Wendy James verfolgt nach dem Ende der Band Anfang der 90er eine nicht übermäßig erfolgreiche Solokarriere mit spärlich erscheinenden Veröffentlichungen, teilweise mit ihrem Projekt Racine. Nun gibt es wieder ein neues Lebenszeichen - optisch immer noch reichlich aufgebrezelt (und doch auch etwas in die Jahre gekommen) legt sie neues Material vor. Derzeit wird auf RCRD.LBL ihr neuer, erfreulich guter Song «You tell me» kostenlos zum Download angeboten, in dem sie zur Abwechslung endlich mal wieder bratzige Gitarren hören lässt.

    Velveteen ist ja aber auch ein grossartiger Song, und das Album ebenso. Höre ich auch heute noch gerne. So, nun bin ich auch geoutet! :)
